Serena sizzles for New York Mag
If you haven’t seen the shots that Norman Jean Roy took of Serena Williams for the latest edition of New York Mag, it’s probably best that you do. From a purely aesthetic perspective, they’re quite breathtaking, but what they also do is demonstrate the raw power that the greatest female tennis player of the past decade has. She’s been captured absolutely perfectly. This is how you do studio portraiture.
The story behind the pictures is equally compelling, a brief look into the life of one of the most impressive athletes, male or female, the world has ever seen. Williams went through a lot to get where she is today, and author Kerry Howley has done well to capture the essence of who she is in this piece. It’s well worth a read, so please click the link to check it out.
